Village of St. Jacobs

The quaint village of St. Jacobs has days’ worth of things to do and see! Discover one-of-a-kind craft studios, antiques, fashions, furniture, gifts, home decor, restaurants and cafes in the century village of St. Jacobs.

Most shops are open weekdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Sundays, shops are open from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. (except Good Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.) Winter hours vary.

St. Jacobs Country Playhouse

Located in the heart of St. Jacobs country, the St. Jacobs Country Playhouse has quickly become a source of tremendous pride for the community. Operating year-round, the 385-seat venue features the turn-of-the-century masonry and heavy-timber character associated with the traditional Mennonite

West Montrose Covered Bridge

The West Montrose Covered Bridge (known as the Kissing Bridge) was built entirely of wood in 1881. It is the second-oldest bridge and the last covered one in the region. The bridge ranks as the region’s second most significant heritage bridge structure. It is a distinctive landmark that forms an integral feature of the Village of West Montrose and it is listed as provincially significant bridge.

Wings of Paradise Butterfly Conservatory

At Wings of Paradise, you can take an unforgettable walk among more than 2000 live free-flying tropical butterflies, raised in Costa Rica and the Philippines, as well as among the twelve exotic bird species that fly freely in the Conservatory.

Watch bees make honey in our observation honeybee hive, and get an up-close look at other interesting insects.

A tropical paradise, the Conservatory is lushly planted with more than 80 species of tropical plants, including palms, ferns, jasmine, and banana.

Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory
